Menswear has always been a tricky category. There are so many ways of getting the look right, but fashion sometimes goes horribly wrong too. This time at Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017, there were little bits and pieces of traces of good menswear options showcased by quite a few designers.
If you are someone who thinks wedding wear for men equals to sherwani, or bandh gala, suit or one or two more styles, then this post will be helpful to you. There are quite a few designs, cuts for groomswear also, that are unique and stylish keeping in mind the upcoming season.
# Tarun Tahiliani
His collection titled “Chasm Shahi” was inspired by the Mughal gardens and architecture. The colour palettes was all about whites, creams, beige and then jade and black. A lot of colours could be seen in the women’s wear collection, but for men monotone colours were seen.
What I loved about the two outfits here are that they are classics. Anyone can wear, and in multiple occasions. You can pretty much dress it up or down by adding a heavy shawl or a stunning brooch.
# Kunal Rawal
“I think Indo-western is a Pasteurised term, we’ve now made global clothes. There’s a long line there and we’ve a kurta here, so many trends that arise from our country are now present everywhere. One world, we’ve become!” – Kunal Rawal
Its no news that Kunal Rawal is a hot favourite among B Town celeb boys, what if major celebrities like Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra and Ranbir Kapoor have been endorsing this designer for quite some time.
This time around, the designers collection titled “Race of Separates” was all about mix and match. His outfits could be styled in multiple ways, something that I love..and had both Eastern and Western influence in them.
From kurtas that fit like jackets, high low kurtas, and more the collection was fresh and had a young audience appeal.
