Summer is knocking on our doorstep. Delhi recorded a temperature of 30 degrees yesterday, and I am almost shedding tears at the thought of the heat which is upon us. The only savior from the heat…summer fashion that is actually appropriate for the upcoming season.
I saw some super fun summer outfits which were edgy, funky and looked super stylish at the recent Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017. Normally, fashion shows have outfits that have no head and tail to what general (you + me) public can wear, but this time around…pretty much everything that I saw had an element of wear-ability written all over it.
SWATI VIJAIVARGIE
From capes, jumpsuits, to throw on jackets, Swati Vijaivargie’s collection had a summer mexican zing to it. The color palette was all about ivory white with indigo blue with a dash of pop color like reds, pink, green. It symbolized summer in the true sense.
I have always found her collections to be extremely mass appropriate, and the one thing I love about her designs is that she manages to make even the most simple outfit look extraordinarily stylish.

I don’t know about you, but I am sort of tired seeing floral lehengas in pinks and lavender. Its just done for me. Sorry I said it. But I am so glad the designer is coming up with new looks. I am not the biggest fan of her this times LFW collection, but there is something which is sort of eye catchy in her designs. What do you think? Hit or miss?

I love love their collection. Rahul & Shikha (the designers) have always showcased wearable good fashion even in the previous shows. This time around their collection called “Bagh-e-Gul” was inspired by the beautiful Persian gardens. Intricate floral embroideries in loose tunics and flowy maxis, their outfits oozed the emotion of calm and relaxed summers.
