Pre-Wedding Photoshoots are all the craze these days, and rightly so…its one of the most fun things about any weddings. More importantly, its fun for the bride and groom. Not so sure, how fun it is for the groom…but definitely for the bride 😛
When I planned my pre-wedding photoshoot a constant worry was what should I wear. Should it be one outfit, two outfits, ethnic, fusion, western, mix….there are soo many options to choose from. In the end you want to look your best so one needs to choose wisely.
A pre-wedding photoshoot is the window for others to see what kind of a couple you are. The photos are like an invitation for your friends to experience a fun day or evening out with the to-be weds. I know it sounds cheesy but its true…a pre-wedding photoshoot is that much important for you as much as it is to show the world what kind of a couple you really are.
In this post, I am compiling a list of outfits you can opt for given your theme for the photoshoot. I hope this helps some of you 🙂
FOR A SUMMER PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT
Summer is all about the bright colors and sunny days. A photoshoot takes a lot of time to get those picture perfect shots, and you really don’t want to be sweating it out while smiling for the camera. Try wearing easy breezy clothes. Focus on colors, prints, more importantly flowy-ness of the fabric. It helps to play around when posing.
#1 A SHORT SUMMER DRESS
An all time go to option. If you can’t think of anything innovative, then go for this. Its tried and tested and guaranteed you will have some drool worthy fun pre-wedding photoshoot pictures in this. You can either choose a all white summer short dress or even go with florals.
#2 A COLORFUL PUNJABI SUIT
If you are a bollywood fan, this is the outfit I would recommend after the saree. Its fun, colorful and so easy to carry off. Try wearing a full patiala with a colorful dupatta and you can do wonders in your pre-wedding photoshoot.
#3 MIDI SKIRT WITH TOP
Midis are totally back in fashion. I see a lot of poofy skirts available at Forever 21, H&M and they are quite classy to look at. So if you are wondering what outfit to choose for your pre-wedding photoshoot, a candy pink or floral midi might just do the trick.
#4 MAXI DRESS
Be it in bold solid one shade colors, or ombre or floral for that matter…one can’t go wrong with a maxi. Its a super versatile outfit to wear for any pre-wedding photoshoot. Easy to manage, and with loads of funky poses possible, this outfit is my personal favorite go to number to opt for.
FOR A MONSOON PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT
Monsoon = Romance. Period. Remember all those cheesy bollywood movies with saree clad actress getting wet in the rain. Its the perfect pre-wedding photoshoot shot. My all season favorite, you can do wonders in the rain. Take props like umbrella, jackets and loads more…this season is all about showering your love with love 😀
Don’t you love these pictures? Beach, rain and you in a saree….its the ultimate epitome of romance. If you’re planning a monsoon pre-wedding photoshoot, I highly recommend you to try clicking a few pictures in a saree. You won’t be disappointed.
#6 ANARKALI GOWN
A bright floor length anarkali gown is an evergreen option to go for in a pre-wedding photoshoot. You can twirl, play with the dupatta or simply show the gher of your outfit in the pictures. Traditional and classy, this is one option that will never go out of fashion.
FOR A AUTUMN-WINTER PRE-WEDDING PHOTOSHOOT
I love this season…only because its the most comfortable to shoot in. Autumn leaves, cool winter mornings…with few rays of sunshine…it makes for the perfect picture background. You can do a beach shoot, a walk in the park shoot or basically get away with any location. Its the perfect time for photoshoots.
#7 JEANS WITH A CASUAL TOP
If you are someone who is not a dress up person, want to keep it casual yet get some fun pictures clicked, then casual is the way to go. The focus of any Pre-wedding photoshoot is not the clothes, but you and your would be…the poses you do…and your celebration of your love. Remember that and enjoy the experience.
#8 EVENING GOWN
There is something vintage and royal about evening gowns. One looks dressed up for the photoshoot….and these are memories that would last forever. It makes sense to look every inch royal in your choice of attire. If you do have an enviable piece of evening gown, think no more…and pick this outfit for your pre-wedding photoshoot. After all, its a once in a lifetime kind of memories you’re making with your to be husband.
#9 A SHORT PARTY DRESS IN HIGH HEELS
You have that lucky outfit that has always worked for you, wear it. High heels look amazing in photoshoots and if you have that enviable outfit in which you look stunning, you really don’t need to look for alternate options.
Probably the lesser popular of the options. But I would say if you have a spare lehenga that you must have worn to a friends or sisters wedding…then use that for your photoshoot. An anarkali is nowhere comparable to a lehenga, so if you have one…probably best idea would be to use it for your pre-wedding photoshoot.
Another bit that I recall from my wedding is that me and the hubby, we just didn’t have the energy or patience to pose for cheeky photos in our wedding attire. The day was way too stressful. Yours could be the same too…so if you’re ok with the idea, may be use that wedding lehenga on a fresh new day and get some cheesy pictures clicked. Not only would you look fresh, it will be a fun photo date with your new husband. I call it a post-wedding photoshoot.
