You know while typing this post, I am almost thinking, why didn’t I look through Astha Narang’s collection before…it really gives a good perspective of what’s out there in the mid-budget price range for wedding reception lehengas. Not all of us want to drop a couple of lakhs on one outfit, and it makes total sense to know about options available to us. Then can you imagine getting legit designer wear lehengas in this price range.
Some of the outfits below really are a steal deal if you can think of doing a jugaad and turning it into your main wedding function outfit. You can totally get away with it. The biggest tip is – let go of your lehenga obsession, and easily the price can come down by ~ approx 15-20k depending upon the designers price range for lehengas.
Still confused about what I am talking…take a look at Astha Narang’s collection for affordable reception outfits. I am arranging them in order of ascending price. You will notice that the same work, heaviness of the outfit…sometimes even heavier outfits than lehengas are available at a lower cost, if you are ok to settle on a anarkali gown. Its not the worst option, let me tell you that.
#1 Coral Peach Shimmer Anarkali Gown – Rs. 32,000
Featuring a coral peach ankle-length anarkali gown in net embellished with sequins and beads hand-embroidery.
It has round cut-out detailing at back with side zip.
I am in love loveee with this coral anarkali gown. Stunning back, isn’t it? I think one can easily get away with it for a reception outfit too. For all those of you who are not crazy about wearing a lehenga, this is prabably the best option out there in the price bracket of under 35k.
Shimmer all over the top, with a beautiful full flare at the bottom, this outfit is perfect to twirl around with your new husband at your party…and can easily be dressed down for future events.
#2 Peach Sequins Embellished Gown – Rs. 38,000
Featuring a peach net gown with sequins and nakshi embroidery. Its underlayer of can can.
This gorgeous gown can be worn for pre-wedding, reception, sister of the bride look, or even for your best friends wedding. Extremely versatile in its look, this gown can easily be dressed up or down given then occasion. I personally find this style extremely international and red carpet like in its look, and its perfect for your budget pick for reception outfit.
#3 Dark Nude Sequins Embellished Gown – Rs. 38,000
This set features a dark nude net anarkali with sequins hand embroidery all over. It has underlayer of can can.
If you are not too much into the peach color then this probably is your best alternate option. Very Sabyasachi in its color shade, this dark nude gown is the perfect reception blingy outfit you can go for under 40k budget.
#4 Blue Off Shoulder Sequins Embroidered Gown – Rs. 42,000
Featuring a blue off shoulder flared gown with sequins embroidery and thread work all over in net.
Earlier this year, Kate Middleton had worn a similar blue sequins dress when she visited India. She looked every bit royal as a princess can be. So, if you want the same princess like feeling, you know which outfit to opt for as your wedding day look. Perfect alternative to the traditional lehenga look, you can keep aside the red or pink lehenga for the actual pheras, and go for this one for the evening reception party.
#5 Rose Gold Sequins Embroidered Lehenga – Rs. 42,000
Featuring a rose gold block printed lehenga in silk embellished with gold sequins and nakshi embroidery. It is paired with rose gold blouse with sequins embroidered net sleeves. It also comes along with matching shimmer sequins embroidered net dupatta.
Rose gold is totally in this season, be it on watches, phones or even wedding outfits. The color is the perfect alternative to gold. If you don’t want to go the traditional way, then this lehenga is probably the best ‘Sabyasachi’ feel affordable lehenga out there right now.
#6 Dark Blue Sequins Embroidered Lehenga – Rs. 44,000
Featuring a dark blue block printed lehenga in silk embellished with gold sequins and nakshi embroidery. It is paired with matching blouse with shimmer neckline. It also comes along with dark blue shimmer sequins embroidered net dupatta.
This dark blue lehenga is probably the closest best alternative to a Sabyasachi lehenga. The look is heavy, rich at the bottom, and I love the detailing on the lehenga skirt. The only bit I wish was if the dupatta borders has some significant work, this outfit would have been my favorite hands down. But still, given everything, its a stunning steal deal option to choose as your reception lehenga.
#7 Peach/Mint Green Sequins & Beads Embroidered Lehenga – Rs.45,000
Featuring a peach shimmer flared lehenga in net heavily embroidered with sequins and beads work in floral pattern. It is paired with matching U-neck embroidered blouse with sheer back and diamond-cut hemline. It also comes along with peach net sequins and beads embroidered dupatta.
If you are into sequins and pastel colors, then this lehenga by Astha Narang is a dream choice at the price quoted. I love the fact that this blouse actually has heavy work done on it, making it look bridal like. The skirt though is a total dream given the heaviness of the sequins. My favorite in the collection.
#8 Peach & Red Floral Thread and Sequins Embroidered Lehenga – Rs. 48,000
This set features a peach lehenga in net base with red floral thread work all over and sequins embroidered panels around the hem. It is paired with matching peach blouse in net with gold sequins embroidered motifs all over. It comes along with matching peach net dupatta with red floral embroidered border.
This stunner of a outfit has everything you have ever wished for in your reception lehenga. It has sequins, its peach with red highlights and has a heavy blouse. A complete cheat option at a good price…no one would be able to guess its price, and you get away with a proper designer lehenga 🙂
