Lakme India Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2016 ended a month back, but the after-effects of the designs, outfits have remained until now. Surprisingly there were little-little elements from every designer that was worth mentioning. So, I have been writing a series of posts covering end to end of the fashion week.
I love that Lakme Fashion Week was all about what one can wear like today and tomorrow…not something in distant future. While most of the times, I don’t understand fashion and always have a question about who exactly is going to wear something like this in this season….Lakme Fashion Week had something for everyone’s liking. If I had to describe it in 3 words I would say – simple comfortable fashion
Check out some of the favorite summer outfits. Let me know which designer and outfit was your top pick !
The designer showcased versatile styles in soothing white, blue, grey shades. The entire collection oozed summer cool and I loved how flowy the fabrics were. Super wearable, I would totally recommend these looks for a summer day outing or a weekend brunch.
Loved the colors and patterns used by the designer. The outfits are so wearable, I especially love the violet patterned outfits, I think they would look stunning on anyone. Perfect summer picks I say.
Fun, flirtatious…anyone off to Goa? Then this collection is totally meant for you. Its super cute, very girlfriend style. Loved it. Long capes and jackets are totally in fashion and its wonderful to see designers able to use this fashion trend even in summers. I mean who really thinks of wearing layers in summer…but these looks are totally summer friendly.
From casual to dressy for a date night, Monica Jaising’s collection definitely gave a end to end solution for summer. My favorites were the short skirt and the short dress look. I think they are the quintessential summer dresses.
Whoever said no drama in summer never really met Anita Dongre. I fell in love with these two outfits…the fit, flare, color, print…everything is just perfect. Even in simplicity it has a certain amount of royalty attached to it. No wonder Kate Middleton decided to wear an Anita Dongre outfit while touring India.
Her collection ‘love notes’ was truly inspiring. There were summer casual outfits, wedding guest worthy outfits and some serious drool worthy showstopper look outfits as well. If you can’t get enough of these looks, take a look at some of her other creations from the same collection here.
Skirts and summer go hand in hand, and when it is a puffy skirt, its like a bonus. I loved that most of the designers stuck to summer friendly fabrics this fashion week and the styles were all about flowy maxis, shorts, long capes and summer jackets
Now, I know its debatable whether these are summer or all season outfits, but nonetheless I decided to include these in this post because of the nature of the look of the outfit. I loved the pastel nude shades in flowy fabrics and the blue gown is a nice touch to include something ‘hatke’ in the collection.
If you’re style is quirky and different than the rest, then this designers collection may be of interest to you. I loved how the fabrics accentuated the models curves. If you’re the figure flaunting kinds, then this collection is truly meant for you.
The style was funky yet Indian in a way. One could definitely see a style statement being made with each of these designs. Loose pants and palazzos are all the craze this season, and rightly so…and its nice to see some styling tips of how to carry it off. The mustard long floor length cape is my favourite. Which one is yours?
Very much on similar lines with Anita Dongre, her collection reminded me of Pantaloons and Fusion Beats sans the color choice. Super comfy and wearable, this one is the perfect summer wear collection from start to end.
White and blue were clearly the theme this season and what’s great is that after looking through everything, you still have so many designs and variants possible be it in prints, fabrics, color shades or cuts. From subtle to bold, this designers collection too had some note worthy mentions.
