The Amazon India Fashion Week just ended yesterday in New Delhi, and my instagram account has been flooding with looks from the show for the past week. I saw some nice easy breezy summer looks perfect for brides-to-be along with some light lehengas apt for pre-wedding functions. Surprisingly I also saw some nice bridal picks in some of the designers collections which had a modern touch perfect for those who don’t want to go all out heavy duty traditional on their big day.
So, lets get onto the gorgeousness….but first some of the best bridal looks….
Be it summer or winter fashion week, I think a little bit of bridal wear never hurts anyone. This time too, designers Sabyasachi to Tarun Tahiliani did not fail to impress. But even though these two names are like on the tip of everyone’s tongues when it comes to bridal wear, my favorite this season was JJ Valaya couture collection. I have always liked his taste in bridal wear.
If you think every second person nowadays is opting for a Sabyasachi and you want a different look, then JJ Valaya is definitely a good alternative to consider. You won’t be disappointed !

I couldn’t find entire collection pictures for these designers yet, so will update them as soon as I can get my hands on them. But let me assure you, there are some to die for pieces.
For now, lets check out the collection of some newbie designers on the block…
NIKITA
- How cute is this for a summer outfit
Her collection consisted of the quintessential summer looks. Her fabrics and colors were so soothing to the eyes. I don’t know why, but the maxis immediately reminded me of outfits perfect for a holiday in Greece.

Beach goddess anyone? Apart from that gorgeous white red saree, her entire collection was pretty much the perfect choice for beaches. Screams summer love I feel.

SHALINI JAMES
My personal favorite in the fashion week. I loved her collection. I feel like screaming yes…these are the kind of summer outfits that one can be seen wearing…only her collection is way more beautiful. I think her collection is totally my style. I could have rocked this look…:-P At least that’s what I think…hehee…
Her collection was aptly named “Indian by choice” and I think the name and the outfits go beautifully in sync. This was her debut show at Amazon. I think she has outdone herself here.
I can’t decide which is my favorite one among these. They all are so good. I loved her collection because its so wearable and elegant. The fabric is something we have all seen, its so common, yet the looks are so inspiring. I especially loved the saree draping style with the long (short) top. Definitely quirky.
Tell me which one is your favorite?

SANJAY GARG
He is quite well known for his brand Raw Mango. What’s amazing about him is that his brand is all about the contemporary Indian handwoven textiles crafted using traditional techniques. This was his fashion week debut and I am honestly quite happy to see designers reviving the banarasi silk fabric.
I was just reading about the designer and found out that he’s helping artisans by employing them and there are almost 400+ employees working under the brand Raw Mango. Kudos to the designer for taking the initiative !
I told you in the beginning of the post that I saw some light wear lehengas, Sanjay Garg’s collection had these three Lehengas that I liked. The first one especially in its silk fabric is quite traditional to look at and perfect for a pre-wedding function. His collection called Mashru is made entirely in Benaras and consisted of Lehengas, sarees, and long kurtis.

SIDDARTHA TYTLER
Be it the saree or the cape style, there was something for everyone here. I am usually not a fan of lavender, but this outfit above was quite classy to own as a trousseau piece. I also loved the designers’s mens collection.
Which is your favorite among these looks?

BEST OF THE REST…
You know, most of the time I don’t understand fashion. Unless and until, it is wearable somewhere or pretty to the eyes, only then does fashion makes sense. I always thought all this summer, winter collections with their fashion forward slits and cuts here and there are good for the models only. But this year with almost 50+ designers showcasing their collection, there were quite a few gem of outfits seen on the ramp.
Lets take a look at some of the top favorites….
