When you are a bride-to-be, you have a thousand things going on in your head and a big fat headache is to find the right venue for the wedding. While most may say that this particular category is for parents to look into, I feel the decision more or less depends on us brides – the kind of place we want, outdoor or indoor, scenic or modern, poolside or a garden view etc etc. There are a ton of options available be it any city you are planning your wedding in.
As you know I recently fixed my wedding venue…but what I want to tell you is that it was not an easy task. Nowadays there are so many options from terrace to lawn, banquets, farmhouse etc etc, that one really needs to know which one is the most suitable for their wedding. Also, super important is your personal choice. So, I figured it doesn’t hurt to know all the pros and cons of the different types of Wedding Venues. That way one can really know the upside and downside before making any concrete decisions.
This is going to be a series posts with the first one coming up tomorrow 🙂
There are a lot of factors which come in along with the venue. Just selecting the venue is not the end task, choosing the right caterer and the decorator is also usually part of the package. After all, you don’t want to be left with a gorgeous venue but with mediocre decoration and food, right?
So while a hotel banquet may have a specific number of caterers and decorators on their panel, making it easy for you to choose…an outdoor event say a farmhouse or lawn may get difficult as you would have to search for the caterer and decorator yourself.
There are many little things such as these that one has to to be aware of before finalizing a venue. Keeping all this in mind, I decided to share some of my experience and observations when I was considering these options for my wedding.
Let me tell you, that for the longest time my eyes were set on a beautiful terrace venue for my wedding reception. But I junked that idea for one core problem – Guests having to use the lift to come to the terrace! Can you imagine when the baaraat comes, having to wait for god knows how long till your turn comes to use the lift !
So I had to opt for something else instead.
I hope you find this series helpful. The wedding venues that I would be covering in this series are:
#7 Temple/Church and the likes
I have chosen these 8 different types of Wedding Venues because these are the most common of the lots. While there are tons of other options, these I feel happen to be the mainstream ones. However, if you want me to cover any other type of wedding venues as well, do let me know and I will include that in this list 🙂
