My instagram off late has been flooding with bridal lehengas. It always does. I follow practically every Indian designer out there who can contribute towards Indian Wedding. Not surprisingly, Sabyasachi’s collection is just always out there. There is just no ignoring it. Practically every 2nd or 3rd bride is donning one of his signature outfits…and sometimes it just gets too much, you know. Its not like I don’t love it…but isn’t there anything else…someone else who can match up?
Well there is. I knew about Shyamal & Bhumika from quite a while. They make gorgeous wedding outfits but nothing extraordinary that sticks with you forever. But this time its different. There is something so sincere in their creations. You’re automatically drawn towards it.
I always feel and I have said this before…that when a bride gets ready, the first thing that should come to mind when you see her is…oh she looks beautiful, gorgeous and things like that. Not oh, she is wearing a Sabyasachi. Isn’t that a gorgeous lehenga. That just kills it. You as a bride want to shine through…yes the lehenga plays a gigantic role in making you look stunning…but shouldn’t the focus be you?
When I laid my eyes upon Shyamal & Bhumika’s Shaahibaug collection…I felt as though I was looking at the bride. That delicate bridal feel that you can instantly either see or miss it.
I am still a frugal blogger, so if you think I am pushing towards designer wear…its not the case. This is pure admiration for something pristinely beautiful. Just have a look for inspiration sake.
